In Rob and Lisa's words

Our story

Proactive Osteopathy is a family business, run by Rob and Lisa Munro.

What started as a shared passion for helping people move and feel better has grown into a clinic built on care, not just treatment. We know that pain doesn't just affect the body — it affects your work, your family, your everyday life. So we take the time to listen, to understand what's really going on, and to find the right path forward together.

As a family-run practice, that same warmth carries through everything we do. You're not a number here, and you won't be rushed. Whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth, you'll be treated with the same care we'd want for our own family.

That's the heart of Proactive Osteopathy — hands-on expertise, delivered with genuine care.

Owner · Dip BmP, BodyMaster practitioner

Rob Munro

Rob is one of only 50 BodyMaster practitioners in the UK. The BodyMaster method is a fusion of therapy techniques designed to remove pain and restore mobility without recourse to drugs or surgery — osteopathic, chiropractic, physiotherapy and sports therapy techniques combined with remedial deep tissue massage, treating the body as a whole unit rather than relying on any single approach.

He has a keen interest in men's health as they age and has recently become a Men's Health Champion. Rob is a family man who enjoys nothing more than a long walk with his wife Lisa — as long as they end up at a local pub or restaurant.

Co-owner · Naturopathy advisor & pelvic floor specialist

Lisa Munro

Lisa is an experienced healthcare professional with over 20 years of service as a nurse, dedicated to compassionate, patient-centred care. Building on that clinical background, she is also a trained naturopathy advisor, integrating holistic approaches to support overall wellbeing through diet and lifestyle. As a pelvic floor specialist she provides knowledgeable and sensitive care with the BetterPelvi pelvic floor chair.

Family is at the heart of Lisa's values, and that perspective shapes the way she works. She approaches her clients with the same level of care, respect and commitment she would for those closest to her.

Dip BmP, BodyMaster practitioner

Sam Strugnell

Sam trained under John Gibbons, a world-renowned osteopath, in the BodyMaster method — bringing together the most effective aspects of osteopathic, chiropractic and physiotherapy techniques. Using that broad toolkit he takes a thorough, hands-on approach, focusing on finding and addressing the underlying cause of pain and dysfunction rather than just easing symptoms.

Known for being approachable and attentive, Sam works closely with each client on a plan that feels clear and tailored to them. His goal is that everyone who walks through the door doesn't just get back to the things they love, but keeps being able to enjoy them.
