first appointment
without your say-so
The five steps
Your journey with us
Step 1
Get in touch
Book online, call us on 02380 694 966, or send us a WhatsApp message, whichever suits you. If you're not sure which treatment is right for you, ask. We'll help you decide before you commit to anything.
Step 2
Your first appointment
Your first appointment takes 45 to 60 minutes. It combines a full case history — how the problem started, what's already been tried, other health and lifestyle context — with a physical examination, and where appropriate, a 3D postural scan the same visit.
Wear something comfortable that allows your practitioner full access to the area being examined. We generally suggest leggings and a fitted top for women, or shorts for men. You're welcome to bring a friend or relative with you if you'd prefer.
Step 3
Understanding the cause
Where appropriate, a 3D postural scan pinpoints what's driving the problem. Your practitioner walks you through the scan results on screen there and then, in plain English, and shows you how what the scan shows connects to the pain you came in with.
Step 4
Your treatment plan
You leave your first appointment with an honest recommendation — which treatment we suggest, how many sessions we expect it to take, and what it'll cost. Nothing's booked or agreed without your say-so.
If we don't think we're the right clinic for what you have, we'll tell you — and where possible we'll point you towards someone who is.
Step 5
Staying well
Once you're out of the pain cycle, our aim is to keep you there. Most patients follow a maintenance pattern — a check-in every few months rather than another course of treatment — supported by a personalised exercise programme available to you online at any time.
We're also happy to see you again for any new issue as it arises. You don't need to start from scratch, because your notes stay with us.
No mystery, no pressure
At every stage you'll know what we found, what we recommend, and what it costs — and the decision is always yours.
Before your first visit
What people often worry about
You've read our approach. Here are the things patients most commonly ask about before a first appointment — and what we'd want you to know.
-
“I'm not sure which treatment I need”
That's fine — most people don't. Book a first appointment and your practitioner will work out what's going on and what will help. There's no obligation to go ahead with anything on the day.
-
“What if I change my mind partway through?”
You can, and nothing's locked in. If you've booked a course and decide to stop, we'll refund the unused sessions — just talk to us.
-
“What if I get emotional?”
It happens. Chronic pain wears people down, and talking through what's been going on for months or years can bring things up. There's nothing to apologise for. We'll take the time you need.
-
“I'm worried about getting on the treatment bed”
Let us know when you book, or when you arrive, and we'll adjust — lower the bed, take extra time, or where possible use an alternative position. We see patients in all sorts of physical states, and we'll always work with what you can do.
-
“What if I can't make it and need to cancel?”
Life happens. Give us as much notice as you can and we'll rearrange. Our cancellation policy is set out on the booking page.
Practical questions we get asked
No. You can book directly.
Any previous imaging (MRI, X-ray, ultrasound reports), a list of current medications and supplements, and any other information about your health you think might be relevant. If you don't have any of this, don't worry — your practitioner will take the case history from scratch.
Your case notes, appointment history and payment information are held securely in Cliniko, which is fully GDPR-compliant. Our full privacy policy explains exactly how your information is handled.
Still got a question?
Ask us anything before you book — no obligation. Or book straight in and we'll take it from there.
